The phrase WPC certification is therefore incomplete until the supplier identifies the scheme, issuing body, standard or regulation, product family, factory, certificate number, issue and expiry status, and any surveillance conditions. “SGS tested” is also not a certification category. SGS, Intertek, TÜV and similar names may identify an organization, but the buyer still needs the actual service, report, sample and scope.
CE marking requires the same discipline. The European Union states that CE marking applies only where specific harmonized EU rules require it, that the manufacturer is responsible for applicable requirements, and that there is no central EU body issuing a general permission certificate.[4] A page headed “CE Certificate” may therefore be a declaration, a notified-body document, a voluntary document or something irrelevant. ISO/IEC 17025 is a laboratory competence framework, not a product certificate
Laboratory accreditation increases confidence only for activities inside the laboratory's valid accreditation scope. It does not transform a tested sample into certification of every WPC panel made by the supplier.

A laboratory may be accredited for chemical analysis but not for the fire method shown on a separate report. It may also have multiple sites whose scopes differ.

If the laboratory received samples directly from the supplier, record who selected them. Supplier-submitted testing can be legitimate, but it is not the same as independent sampling from routine production. For higher-risk claims, the buyer may require witnessed selection, sealed samples, chain-of-custody records or testing from a defined production lot.
Material and process changes are relevant because test representativeness can be lost without changing the product name. Read the complete standard reference before reading the pass statement
A test result has meaning only inside its method, edition, specimen preparation, test conditions and classification rules. A shortened standard number or isolated “PASS” line is not enough.
Use the standard publisher's official catalog to check the complete designation, title, edition or year, current status and superseded versions. Then compare that information with the report. A report using an older method is not automatically invalid: a project or regulation may intentionally reference that edition. Conversely, a current standard does not automatically make it the correct requirement for the project.
For example, the BSI catalog describes BS EN 13501-1:2018 as a reaction-to-fire classification procedure for construction products considered in relation to end-use application.[5] This is why a fire classification cannot be detached from the tested or classified construction and casually transferred to every profile. A North American flame-spread label and a European reaction-to-fire class also should not be converted by appearance or supplier opinion; their methods and classification systems must be evaluated separately.

- Specimen size, orientation, exposed face, quantity and preparation.

Separate measured data from limits classifications and conclusions
The results page should be reconstructed as a decision trail. Buyers need to know what was measured, what requirement was applied and who made the conformity decision.
A measured value is an observation under stated conditions. A limit is an acceptance requirement from a regulation, standard, customer specification or project document. A class groups results under defined rules. “Pass” is a decision that depends on the cited requirement and, in some cases, a stated decision rule. These are not interchangeable fields.
Record units exactly and check whether the result is an individual value, mean, range, maximum or minimum. “Not detected” normally means the result was below a stated detection or reporting limit; it is not the same as absolute zero. Ask the issuer or qualified project professional which variations are explicitly included. The correct status is not “fake report.” It is “verified document, unacceptable product match.” That distinction matters in supplier communication and audit records. - Record the verifier, channel, date, response and saved evidence. Authenticity status can change when documents are revised, suspended or withdrawn.
A practical supplier certificate verification record should separate “issuer confirmed,” “database match,” “accreditation scope match,” “product match” and “project applicability.” One green checkmark cannot represent all five decisions.
